Sunday Brekky @ Breakfast in Bed

This is the cutest stall in our neighborhood, right downstairs of our condo. It’s called Breakfast in Bed. And because I find the place really pretty and cozy, I finally took my chance to photograph some of their stuff including the food. 🙂

BB_01A cozy chair with round cushions piled up on it, looking like macaroons. 🙂

BB_02Locally called “Champorado”, made of rice cooked in choco-cocoa and then added with evaporated milk. Best with fried sun-dried fish!

BB_03Some pretty old-school trinkets over at the corner adding to the “country-ish, shabby chic-ky” feel of the resto. I could imagine how they were once copper and rusty before they bathed in white paint.:)

BB_04I thought I fell in love with this lavender and white stripes placemat. Modern and dainty!

BB_05That’s my hat! Even lovelier with all the colors happening around.

BB_06And these chairs made for comfort, you wouldn’t want to stand up anytime soon. 😀

I think that’s all for a quick tour around a tiny pretty nook. 🙂

Got a new couch, absolutely FREE!

So I was like gone for a couple of weeks, sleeplessly preparing for our event, which, thank God, turned out very well. And now, I’m back in the “real world”…where I make my way home at the end of the day, find my bed with my pillows and blanket to lull me to sleep, the green and white curtains ever refreshing, the toilet I am most comfortable with…and of course my messy heap of clothes. Make that “very messy”. @_@

Tsa-daaa, there’s my NEW BED!

Image

It’s a couch, I know. It’s new and I got it for FREE, yeyyy! 😀

So after a whole week of five-star living, which I barely felt because of such unbelievable workload, I came home thinking I’d find my bed ready or unready to hug me. But I actually ended up on this comfy couch, which is quite clingy, it wouldn’t let me stand up no matter how hungry I was. I slept and slept and slept on it like there was no tomorrow. In fact, I’ve started this post several hours ago but since my new bed is just right there and I could easily see it…well, I’ve been taking good naps for several hours, too. 🙂

So I think I just got myself a new resting place, where I could just throw myself to before heading upstairs for the “real sleep”.

I’m tired but I feel fulfilled. I’m very tired but I have a “new bed” FOR FREE, so who cares? Haha! I’m dead tired but it was aaall worth it. Thank God! 😉

The Song of the Last Tear

Stay there, play the guitar

I’ll sit here, listening from afar

Tickle the strings while I fix my wings

Play your music, the curse to our broken rings.

Sit there, play the piano

I’ll hear it and I’ll tell you, “Bravo”

My heart will bleed, blood coming out clear

Look away, I’ll now embrace to death my fear.

But if you see it, please don’t ask

Believe you only see a very sad mask

My pain is not yours anymore

Worry not, I’ll find a cure to what you tore.

Tomorrow, I will wake up and smile

At the love we shared for long but seemed just a while

Tomorrow, I’ll seek answers, please don’t care

Else you’ll see the pain in me, just beware.

And I’m telling you it’s not for you to see

This pain, this nightmare haunting me

So strum the guitar, play the piano

Close your eyes, my dear musico.

Play the music that broke my heart

Close those eyes I used to see as art

Take our memories with you or leave them somewhere

And now, I’ll close my eyes to free this last tear.

The Way Things Should Be. Simply Beautiful.

AY_03AY_04It’s been a long week of chasing deadlines, haggling with time, damnation over work, sudden changes, traffic troubles, and everything you couldn’t believe you’ve been doing religiously. It’s crazy outside, yeah? 🙂

So here’s my sweet weekend to lull me to rest and kill time lazily. Good vibes got the better of me, first thing in the morning. So I grabbed my phone and took some snap shots of the things I find “simply beautiful”. 🙂

Just to mention, inside that pretty white ceramic are spicy peanuts. I’m thinking of buying  a few packs of roasted sunflower seeds to replace them. I just discovered my love for roasted sunflower seeds when twice this week, ze boss brought some, and WOOOOP, “I love it so munch!” (Growers brand’s tagline). 🙂

And there they are, things that are quite simple and surprisingly beautiful. I pray, and always will, that things…that life…will sooner be. 🙂

Weekend wishes with love, Ayna 😉

From Hair Tie to Necklace

There weren’t enough to call it a collection, but I used to submit to this stubborn impulse of buying and keeping stylish hair ties. Unfortunately, I don’t keep a photo of them altogether. They were mostly cheap finds from unpopular side stores, albeit I had a few expensive ones from Broadway Gems – a store famous for pretty hair accessories.

And my favorite hair tie was also one from Broadway Gems. It was mainly brown with shiny brown pearls, gold and brown flower cutouts, and some clear beads tied altogether in a braid of brown lace. I really wish I had a photo, sadly I could just describe it now.

What I’m trying to say here is, “Don’t throw old stuff right away.” You might want to think of something good to do with them first, salvage them from their original form which might be useless now, and turn them into something else. 🙂

Like my old hair tie made into a necklace! 🙂 Of course there came a time when the band had loosened too much it couldn’t hold my pony tail anymore. I’ve kept my hair tie untouched for such a long time but after almost seven years, I decided to cut it, dismantle its hair tie form, and rearrange its parts.

I couldn’t include everything like the flower cutouts and the clear beads, the shape of tiny strawberries. I had to make the design a little classy while keeping it very simple. So I decided to work out the pearls and the brown lace. Very simple indeed! I only had to separate the pearls by making knots side by side each one of them.

After that plus a little more time working on the lock, I’ve made a newly redesigned accessory – arty, fashionable, and zero-cost! 😉

A View From My Rooftop

Just a little before 6:00 o’clock in the evening today, I went upstairs, to the rooftop to collect my sun-dried laundry. And as I always do, I quickly looked around to find hints of beauty in this very suffocating city of all-concrete, noise and soot. Everything was normal. I had the same view of our neighbor’s portable tent, another neighbor’s mossy roof, the upper floors of a small condominium  with a few clothes hanging dry on the terrace grill. To my left, my brother’s poor little garden laid messy, unattended, but somehow surviving.

When I looked up, there was nothing peculiar, but something was interesting! 🙂

At the time, this view was the most beautiful I got from my rooftop. I found the moon “cute” (hahaha) because it really looked so small from where I was standing. This one made me run back downstairs to get my phone and capture it with the Camera360 photo app (sexy effect).

So after a long scorching hot day, I’m grateful I had a moment with this relaxing beauty: that moon very small, unreachable, but…is always there. 🙂

We. Love. Art.

M, my boyfriend, isn’t the type who’d be genuinely amazed or stunned with things arty. A musician by heart, a little too conscious with his outfit (always making sure that at least he doesn’t look like a couch potato who’s gone out straight from bed), very good at color coordination, but not someone who can draw something nicely. HaHaHa, sorry Honey! 😀

But he surely has hands for origami, his chosen form of art. And I love that fact! So, here’s a picture of what he made (top) as a suitor’s Valentines present for his girl. 😉 A basket of paper lilies, and if my judgment serves me right, the white ones are moonflowers.

I’m not sure if he knew what lilies symbolize, but as additional knowledge at least for those who want some, lilies can mean unions, partnerships, and long lasting relationships. In the movie Imagine Me and You, giving lilies meant, “I dare you to love me.”

And then, for our first month celebration, I painted his Valentines present (bottom). Of course, we know well how the dare went on. And it wouldn’t be just for once ’cause I’m accepting the challenge every day and will always be on for it! I’m love-struck and love-crazed. 😉
